Biography

Antony Galione was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, receiving a BA in Natural Sciences (Part 2 Pharmacology) in 1985 and a PhD in 1989 having worked on the role of calcium oscillations in cell activation in Michael Berridge's laboratory. In 2006 he was elected to the Professorship of Pharmacology in the University of Oxford and is currently Head of Department. Professor Galione's principal research interest has been the regulation of intracellular calcium signaling by cyclic ADPribose and NAADP, emerging intracellular messengers for calcium mobilization.
