As a postdoctoral researcher, E. Mambetisaeva worked at the University of Wales, National Institute for Medical Research, London, and King’s College London investigating the role of gap junctions in Charcot-Marie-Tooth; neural induction in Xenopus laevis, and the role of axon guidance molecules Robos and Slits in mammals. She is interested in understanding human disease development, and, in particular, in the molecular mechanisms of how cancer cells evade the immune system, and in pharmacogenetics.
