Biography

Tomoyuki Tanaka obtained his M. D. and Ph. D. at the University of Tokyo, Japan. After he worked as a post-doc at Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna, he moved to Dundee, UK in 2001 to set up his laboratory. His group has been studying mechanisms of chromosome segregation in... read morebudding yeast and human cells. He has been awarded The Lister Institute Research Prize (2005), The Hooke Medal from The British Society for Cell Biology (2007) and Wellcome Trust Principal Research Fellowship (2012). He has been elected as an EMBO member (2008) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (2009).
