Dr. van Schalkwyk has a strong interest in the conceptual issues around diagnosis in patients with autism spectrum disorder, including cases where additional symptom dimensions are present. Dr. van Schalkwyk is also involved in teaching of medical students and residents, particularly around the topics of translational neuroscience, autism and anxiety.
