Biography

Stanley M. Lemon is the John Sealy Distinguished University Chair and Director of the Institute for Human Infections and Immunity at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston. He received his undergraduate AB degree in biochemical sciences from Princeton University summa cum laude, and his MD with honor... read morefrom the University of Rochester. He moved to UTMB in 1997, serving first as Chair of the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, then as Dean of the School of Medicine from 1999 to 2004. Dr. Lemon's research interests relate to the molecular virology and pathogenesis of positive-strand RNA viruses responsible for hepatitis.
