Biography

Jeremy Ward gained his PhD 1981. He was appointed lecturer in Physiology at St George's Medical School in 1983, before joining UMDS (later King’s College London) in 1987. He was appointed Professor of Respiratory Cell Physiology at King’s in 2001, Head of the department of Physiology in 2006, and Head... read moreof the Division of Asthma, Allergy and Lung Disease in 2015. He was deeply involved in both teaching and research for over 40 years. He published over 150 research papers on the function of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, and several text books. His teaching focussed on general, respiratory and cardiovascular physiology to medical and biomedical students, and was well received. His students awarded him Teaching Excellence awards in three of the last four years before he retired from King’s in 2017, becoming Professor Emeritus.
