Biography

Sevda Şenel is Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Hacettepe University, Turkey. She has received both National grants (TÜBITAK, Hacettepe University Research Fund, Eczacıbaşı Award Fund, Novartis Award Fund, Ministry of Science,Technology and Industry) and International grants (NATO- Research Grants -CRG and CLG, NIH-R12, The British Council Academic Link Scheme, FP7 SME Research grant).
Professor Senel has published over 200 communications to scientific meetings, papers in refereed journals, book chapters, and books. She served as the editor-in chief the FABAD Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences between 2009-2012, and currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology, the Journal of Pharmaceutical Technology and Development, the Polish Chitin Society Journal, and Pharmaceutical Nanobiotechnology.
Professor Senel has served on the CMC committee for vaccines at the Drug and Medical Device Agency of Turkey between 2008-2018, served as the president of the European Chitin Society for two terms between 2009-2013, and served on several committees (Young Scientists Committee, Animal health and Preclinical Sciences Committee, Board of Advisors) at the Controlled Release Society (CRS).
Professor Senel has received many honours, awards, and fellowships, which include the scholarship from NUFFIC-Holland, NATO Postdoctoral Fellowship, French Government scholarship, TÜBITAK -Visiting Scientist scholarship, CRS-InterVet 2005 Best Paper award in Veterinary Drug Delivery, 2005 Novartis Research Fund-Turkey-Pharmaceutical Technology Best Paper award, and The best paper award EUCHIS-AAAPC Sci, 2015. She has received the “2010 Distinguished Scientist Award” by the Academy of Science of the Turkish Pharmacists Association, the “2011 Hacettepe University Science Award”, and the “2017-CRS-College of Fellows Award”.
