Biography

Noa Schwartz is a rheumatology fellow at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. In addition to her medical education, Dr. Schwartz obtained an M.S. with distinction in clinical research methodology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Clinical Research Training Program and participated in the Harvard Macy Institute Postgraduate Trainees Course: Future Academic Clinician Educators. Dr. Schwartz’s research interests are in studying Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, both from a translational perspective by investigating potential biomarkers, ranging from cytokines to single-nucleotide polymorphisms, to basic research into the lymphatic system and its role in lupus. Dr. Schwartz presented her work in the American College of Rheumatology and Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS) annual meetings. She has published a number of original and review papers, mainly on topics in lupus, and is a recipient of an NIH-NIAMS T32 Training Grant under HSS Research Institute Rheumatology Training Program. Dr. Schwartz also serves as a peer-reviewer for a variety of journals, among which are PLoS ONE, Clinical and Experimental Immunology, Lupus, and Journal of Rheumatology.
