Biography

Associate Professor Seth Masters obtained his BSc in Biochemistry from The University of Melbourne, Australia. He then went on to complete a PhD in Medical Biology at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute. Following his PhD Seth was appointed as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Arthritis and... read moreMusculoskeletal Disease, USA, under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Kastner, where he studied autoinflammatory diseases. This was followed by a second postdoctoral appointment in the laboratory of Prof. Luke O’Neill, at Trinity college Dublin, Ireland working on the innate immune system. In 2011, Seth returned to run the Inflammasomes and Autoinflammatory Disease Laboratory at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute. He holds a joint appointment at Glaxosmithkline (UK) and is appointed as a fellow of the Viertel Foundation, HHMI-Wellcome Trust and the NHMRC.
