Megan Shaw obtained her BSc in Biochemistry and Microbiology, and then BSc (Med) Hons in Medical Microbiology, from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She then obtained her PhD in Virology from the University of Glasgow, Scotland before moving to the USA for a postdoc position. She studied virus-host... read moreinteractions under the supervision of Dr. Peter Palese at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and in 2008 started her own research lab at the same institution, with a focus on antiviral drug discovery. She is currently an Associate Professor of Microbiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
