Biography

Nan Bernstein Ratner is Professor, Hearing and Speech Sciences, University of Maryland. She holds degrees in Child Studies from Tufts University, SLP from Temple University and Applied Psycholinguistics from Boston University. Her research interests span child language development and disorder, fluency development and disorder, psycholinguistics, computer-assisted language analysis, and EBP. To date, she has authored 9 books, over 30 chapters and 70 peer-reviewed articles on these topics. A long-time advisor to the TalkBank project (www.talkbank.org), she currently directs its newest NIH and NSF-supported initiative, FluencyBank, with colleague Brian MacWhinney of Carnegie-Mellon.
