Biography

Walid Houry is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Toronto, Canada. He obtained his PhD from Cornell University, and he did his postdoctoral training at Sloan-Kettering Institute, USA, and at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry, Germany. His research focuses on understanding the role of molecular chaperones... read morein the cell using bacteria and yeast as model organisms. His group is also involved in mapping the chaperone interaction networks in these model organisms. He has received several awards including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research New Investigator award and the Premier's Research Excellence award.
