He has published over 400 articles and eleven books, many on human aging and new approaches to management of arthritis and other chronic illnesses. His work continues to be cited more frequently than any others in his 404 members department. The Fries Foundation, together with the CDC Foundation, has for 25 years annually recognized the persons who have done the most to improve human health.
