Doug Speed originally studied Mathematics at Oxford University, before completing a PhD in Genetics at the University of Cambridge. Since 2010, he has worked at University College London, first as a post-doc, and currently as an MRC Career Development Award Fellow. Dr Speed works on developing statistical methodology for analysing... read moregenome-wide association study data. He is particularly interested in SNP-based heritability analysis, and has demonstrated a number of ways the method can be used to investigate the genetic architecture of complex traits. To this end, he has produced the software LDAK for analysing association study data, which is available at http://www.ldak.org.
