Wissam Chatila, MD, PhD, completed his medical degree at the American University of Beirut in 1990, then completed his PhD in Immunology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine in 2015. He has gained expertise in the adaptive immune response in COPD and more recently his focus has been directed towards clinical and therapeutic aspects of COPD and alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. He is actively involved in the clinical research operation in the Thoracic Medicine Department, Lewis Katz School of Medicine, studying conventional and novel asthma and COPD interventions.
