Between 1992 and 2002 his work experience progressed from general clinical veterinarian to laboratory animal sciences. From 2002 to present he was able to practice laboratory animal veterinary sciences, teach, plan, design and set - up experiments with animal models. His main areas of interest are: anaesthesia, education and project managing in lab animal sciences, and he is author of more than 10 books or book chapter, more than 50 peer reviewed articles and 150 communications. He is a researcher at the IBMC (Porto, Portugal) and CITAB / UTAD (Vila Real, Portugal), where he is the facility director and associated professor.
