Biography

Meryem Duygun is Professor of Banking and Finance at Hull University Business School. She joins Hull from the University of Leicester School of Management, where she remains a visiting professor. Meryem is also a Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, Centre for Islamic Business and Finance Research. She has gained an international reputation for her efficiency research in banking in emerging economies. She is consulted as an international expert by UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organisation) and Indonesian BPK (Supreme Audit Board) for banking and service sector performance evaluation. She has supervised 10 PhD students to successful completion. Meryem has acted as a PhD external examiner for several universities in the UK, Europe and Asia.
Meryem serves as an editorial board member and a guest editor for a number of internationally recognized journals. She is the series editor of Banking, Money and International Finance (Routledge), and the series editor of the Online Collections on International Banking (Henry Stewart Talks).
Meryem is the founding President of IFABS-International Finance and Banking Society, a leading global research society with more than 3500 members from academia, central banks and industry.
