Dr. Edman has a 40 year-record of distinguished research on the biology and control of mosquitoes and their roles as vectors of human disease pathogens. He is a world leader in the area of blood-feeding behavior of mosquitoes. His current research interests are the ecology and behavior of blood-feeding, vector-host-parasite-environment interactions, and the transmission dynamics of arboviral and protozoan diseases transmitted by arthropods.
