He holds a European Research Council Advanced Researcher Award and research in his laboratory is supported by a variety of national and international funding agencies. He has authored or co-authored >400 peer-reviewed publications and his H-index is 75. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medical Genetics from 1998-2009 and is a frequent invited speaker at national and international conferences.
