Dr Mocanu received his MD from Transylvania’s Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1993 and did his residency in Ireland in the three large maternities in Dublin, Coombe Women’s Hospital, Rotunda Hospital and National Maternity Hospital. He received his reproductive endocrinology and surgery training in the Rotunda Hospital (2001-2003) and obtained a Doctor in Medicine degree from Trinity College, Dublin in 2011. He is a founding member and past-President of the Irish Fertility Society (IFS), a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). He is serving as a member of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Clinical Advisory Group, Oncofertility Advisor to the National Cancer Control Programme, Coordinator of the ESHRE EUTCD Task Force and Treasurer of the International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS).
