Paul Verdu is a tenured researcher from the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), hosted in the lab "UMR7206 Eco-anthropology and Ethnobiology" located at the Museum of Mankind in Paris (France). He obtained an advanced ingeneer degree in Agronomy (Plant and Animal Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Mathematics) from the... read moreAgroParisTech in Paris, and then obtained his PhD. in Biological Anthropology and Human Population Genetics from the University Pierre et Marie Curie and the National Museum of Natural History in Paris (France) in 2009. After 3 years of post-doctoral research in Noah A. Rosenberg lab (University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) and then Stanford University (Stanford, CA)), he entered the CNRS as a permanent researcher in 2012. Paul's current areas of research mainly focus on reconstructing the demographic and migration history of human populations from modern genetic data, with a specific focus on admixture processes, sociocultural behaviours influencing genetic diversity patterns, and Africa.
