Through the various assignments, Martin Fitzner Toft has gained extensive knowledge and experience in most aspects of laboratory rodent breeding and facility management including biosecurity, health surveillance, genetic monitoring, technology implementation as well as establishment and operation of gnotobiotic facilities. As the Director and Head of the R&D department at Taconic Biosciences Inc. he focused his efforts in microbiome research and development of translational microbiome models.
Martin Fitzner Toft has established and is the CEO of the consultancy network Adlast providing independent expert advice and consultancy services to improve the quality of animal care and use programs through application of science, best practices and modern technology. In addition, Martin Fitzner Toft collaborates with academia in Europe and USA on a number of research programs focusing on development of translational models in microbiome research and supporting technology.
