Biography

Prof. Wichmann received his medical degree from Freiburg University (Germany) in 1984. After additional training at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD) and Emory University (Atlanta, GA), he has been a member of the movement disorder division in Emory’s Dept. of Neurology since 1996. His research focuses on electrophysiological and morphological changes in Parkinson’s disease, with the aim of developing new pharmacological or surgical interventions for this disorder.
