Alex Costa completed his PhD in Biotechnology at the University of Padova, Italy, with Dr. F. Lo Schiavo. The main scientific interest of Dr. Costa regards the study of Ca2+ handling/signalling mechanisms in the different subcellular compartments of plant cells and of the Ca2+ downstream effects on organelle physiology.
