Biography

Francis Schortgen is an Assistant professor of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Mount Union. Dr. Schortgen earned a B.A. in Political Science and History from Miami University, an M.A. in Asia Pacific Studies from the Center for the Pacific Rim, University of San Francisco, an M.B.A.... read morefrom the National University of Singapore, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Miami University. His research focuses primarily on Chinese politics and political economy, with particular emphasis on the dynamics and implications of Chinese enterprise internationalization. He serves as an area editor for the International Journal of Emerging markets and is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Management, Economics and Social Sciences. Prior to returning to academia, he worked as a business consultant in Seoul, South Korea from late 2001 to mid-2004.
