Biography

James McKerrow is the Robert E. Smith Professor of Experimental Pathology, and Director of the Center for Discovery and Innovation in Parasitic Diseases at the University of California, San Francisco. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Haverford College, and his PhD in Biology from the University of California, San Diego.... read moreFollowing graduate school, he entered medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed his MD degree. He did post-MD training in Internal Medicine and Pathology, and a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Zena Werb at the University of California, San Francisco. Since 1985, he has been a leader in the field of parasite biochemistry and molecular biology.
