Biography

James R. Larson, Jr. is Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Department of Psychology, at Loyola University Chicago. Prof. Larson earned a B.S. in psychology from Seattle University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Washington (Seattle). His research is concerned with group decision-making,... read moreproblem solving, and performance, and has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Library of Medicine. His most recent book is In Search of Synergy in Small Group Performance (Psychology Press, 2010). Prof. Larson has held faculty appointments at Rutgers University, Columbia University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is currently an Associate Editor of Group Processes and Intergroup Relations, a past Associate Editor of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and is a member of six other editorial boards. He is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and of the Society for Experimental Social Psychology.
