Trevor J. Orchard, M.B.B.Ch., M.Med.Sci. For over twenty years, Dr. Orchard has served as the Medical Director of the University of Pittsburgh’s Nutrition Lipid Program and has published over 290 papers and book chapters. His research has focused mainly on the epidemiology of diabetes, particularly Type 1 complications, and heart disease and the clinical management of lipid disorders. He has received a number of awards, including the ADA Kelly West Award for Outstanding Achievements in Epidemiology. He has also served on many NIH review panels, been a consultant for IOM, and a reviewer for many journals.
