Biography

David McHardy Reid is Professor of Global Business Strategy. Previously he held the Thomas F. Gleed Chair of Business Administration at Seattle University and the Benjamin Forman Chair of International Business at Rochester Institute of Technology. Until the end of Sept 2000 he held the MUI Chair of International Business... read moreat Curtin University-the largest business school in Australia. And before that he was the Director of the Doctoral Program at the University of Hong Kong. Previously he served as MBA Director at the University of Edinburgh. That followed fifteen years of business experience including a stint with Unilever in international marketing He obtained his doctorate from The University of Edinburgh. In the last two decades Prof. Reid has been researching the strategies of foreign companies in Asia, and has met with and interrogated up to 600 CEO's and other senior executives, primarily in: Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Burma. He has published around 100 papers, three books and numerous articles in management journals, mainly on international strategy with respect to China and Japan. He has consulted to major corporations on both corporate and business strategy.
