Biography

James Hogg is Emeritus Professor of Pathology at the University of British Columbia, where he maintains an active research programme focused on the inflammatory process in the lung with particular reference to the structure and function of the lungs in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He obtained an MD from the... read moreUniversity of Manitoba in 1962 and a PhD from McGill University in Montreal 1966. Following a move to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Professor Hogg founded a Pulmonary Research Laboratory at St Paul's Hospital that has gradually expanded in size and scope, first as the McDonald Research Laboratories and later as the iCAPTURE Centre. Professor Hogg is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and has been appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.
