Dr. Thierry Capiod INSERM, France

Thierry Capiod has had a permanent position at Inserm since 1986 and is leading a team at Inserm U807 (Hopital Necker - Enfants Malades, Paris, France). He received his PhD (Animal Biology and Physiology) at Universite Paris 11 in 1983, moved to University College London (Pharmacology Department) for a post-doc... read morewhere he learnt electrophysiology. He worked for 15 years on intracellular calcium channels then on the involvement of plasma membrane calcium channels in cancer development. He joined Inserm U807 laboratory in 2011 and his current areas of interest are the regulation of cell cycle by calcium channels and the effects of STIM1 mutations in cancer and pancreatic diseases.
