John Knight received his PhD from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia in 1980. He held teaching and research positions in the USA, Australia, UK and Canada, and was Professor of Economics, University of Western Ontario, Canada, from 1987 until his death in 2016. His extensive list of... read moreresearch publications are in theoretical econometrics and financial econometrics. In 2002 he was awarded a Plura Scripsit Award by the journal of Econometric Theory. He also won awards for his teaching and PhD supervision. His research interests included stochastic volatility modeling and the estimation of continuous time processes in finance. Professor Knight died in January 2016, after 26 years of service as a faculty member in the Department of Economics at University of Western Ontario.
