Biography

Marianne Franklin is Reader and Convener of the Transnational Communications and Global Media Program at Goldsmiths College, UK. Past publications include, Resounding International Relations: On Music, Culture and Politics (Palgrave Macmillan 2005), and Postcolonial Politics, the Internet, and Everyday Life: Pacific Traversals Online (Routledge 2004). Her latest book is Understanding... read moreMethods: Coping with the Quantitative-Qualitative Divide, co-authored with Susan A. Banducci (Routledge 2010). Active in the Internet Rights and Principles Coalition at the UN Internet Governance Forum she has been an executive member of the International Communications Section of the International Studies Association, and former Chair of the Feminist Theory and Gender Studies section. Since 2006 she has been editor of Key Thinkers Past and Present, a bi-annual series in the journal, Information, Communication and Society.
