Bambos M. Charalambous is an academic microbiologist with research interests in respiratory infections with particular focus on evolution of antibiotic resistance and host-pathogen interactions. He has strong links with Tanzania through collaborative research projects. He received a BSc honours in biochemistry followed by a PhD in biochemistry from the University... read moreof Wales. Following several postdoctoral positions at Sussex, Leeds and then Cambridge Universities he joined the UCL Medical School, Royal Free Campus as a lecturer in biochemistry. His research in infectious agents led him to accept a senior lectureship position in the Department of Infection, at UCL Medical School. He also teaches on several undergraduate (science and medical students) and graduate courses and is director of a new Masters course in Infection & Immunity.
