Biography

Lorraine Elliott returned to the Department of International Relations at ANU in September 2005 after a two year secondment to the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick, UK where she was Reader in International Relations and Programme Director for the MA in International Relations. Her... read morepresent research includes work on regional environmental governance in Southeast Asia. In 2005 she completed a project funded by the United States Institute of Peace, working with Dr. Graeme Cheeseman of the Australian Defence Force Academy, on cosmopolitan militaries and the use of military force and forces in support of cosmopolitan objectives. In early 2006, she received a grant from the International Centre for Excellence in Asia Pacific Studies to run a workshop on transnational environmental crime and illegal resource activity in the Asia Pacific as part of her new research on the global dimensions of this topic.
