Biography

Her academic career began at the University of Verona, where she served as Assistant Professor before being appointed Associate Professor of Clinical Biochemistry in 2014. In November 2024, she became Full Professor at the Department of Medicine of the University of Padua. Alongside her academic appointments, she has held senior clinical positions in laboratory medicine, including Director of the Laboratory Medicine Unit at the Padua University Hospital since April 2025.

Professor Montagnana has made significant contributions to laboratory medicine and clinical biochemistry. She is the author of more than 400 peer-reviewed publications indexed in major international scientific databases. Since 2018, she has been included among the Top Italian Women Scientists, recognizing researchers with an H-index of at least 60. She has also held several academic leadership roles, including Deputy President of the Single-Cycle Degree Programme in Medicine and Surgery and President of the Degree Programme in Midwifery at the University of Verona. Her work combines research, teaching, clinical practice, and healthcare management.
