1 TalkBiography
Azim Surani completed his PhD in Developmental Biology at the University of Cambridge. His earlier researcher led to the discovery of Genomic Imprinting in mice. His interests extend to the epigenetic programming of the genome in early mammalian embryos and in germ cells. His recent work has focused on the... read moreepigenetic mechanism of germ cell specification in mice, and on some of the unique epigenetic programming events in early primordial germ cells. He is also pursuing research to determine the relationship between germ cells and pluripotent stem cells. There is ongoing research on elucidating the mechanism of epigenetic reprogramming of adult stem and somatic cells to restore pluripotency in differentiated cells.
