Author's Biography

Colm Rushe has worked in the lift industry for over 20 years. Starting as an apprentice in 1996, Colm worked in all sectors of the lift engineering operations in what was the largest independent Irish lift company. He was very involved in streamlining of the maintenance process to achieve an efficient operation, allowing the company to compete in a very competitive price-driven marketplace without affecting the quality and delivery to the company’s customers. Colm was also responsible for a reduction in the company call-out rate from 3 calls per unit per year, on the low side of the industrial average, to 1.3 call-outs per unit per year. Colm now serves as Technical Director for a new startup company, Infinity Lifts Ltd. The company was started by several key management figures from Ennis Lifts following its acquisition, with a goal of bringing improved customer satisfaction to the Irish lift and escalator market.
