Abstract
The Office of Advancement at the University of Calgary is actively dismantling interdepartmental silos, breaking boundaries and enhancing collaboration in order to foster an environment conducive to knowledge exchange. This paper explores how the university's unique, boundary-crossing approach is bolstering creative problem-solving strategies through the use of data and the development of specialised reports.

Author's Biography
Dana Smolak is a prospect management professional who has been with the University of Calgary for 12 years. She leads the Prospect Management team within the University of Calgary's Office of Advancement. She and her team utilise best practices in prospect development to leverage data, more effectively allocate resources and increase revenue. Previously, Dana spent her time as a frontline fundraiser raising money for various arts companies in Calgary. Thanks to this experience, she is able to marry the art of relationship building with the science of data and explain both. It is a gift.
