Abstract
This case study challenges the traditional model of real estate outsourcing by end users, by providing an alternative approach to the delivery of real estate services by an insourced team. While acknowledging the reasons why end users have historically opted to partner with third parties, this case study outlines the evaluation process and tactical tasks needed to decide and then act on this shift. The case study details the stated up-front objectives and provides learnings from a successful model change. The intention is that other end users will be able to use it as a model for making their own evaluations of feasibility and appropriateness.

Author's Biography
Benjamin Bader is Senior Director and Global Head of Real Estate for HERE Technologies, the leading location data and technology platform. After nearly two decades on the provider side with JLL, working closely with global corporates, he joined the end-user ranks in 2017, overseeing all real estate and facilities management activity for HERE’s offices in more than 40 countries. As the head of the real estate organisation for a mid-size company with world-class technology, Benjamin is regularly faced with balancing finite resources with constantly evolving employee needs around the globe, and he is frequently leveraging his 25 years of global corporate real estate experience. He is very active in CoreNet, both locally as Chair of the Chicago Chapter end-user committee, and globally as a member of the Global Finance Committee and was a presenter at the 2022 North American Summit in Chicago. Benjamin earned his MBA from the University of Chicago and holds a Six Sigma Green Belt designation.
