Abstract
The process based on sharing common information, establishing milestones and the continuous revision of the main targets that stems from airport collaborative decision making can be an ideal working method at many of the airport’s areas and with different stakeholders. This paper analyses various situations where this procedure has been implemented by Aena, with a specific focus on the COVID-19 crisis and the post-recovery context.

Author's Biography
Rafael Fernández Villasante is an Aeronautical Engineer at Madrid’s Universidad Politécnica. He has completed the PDG (Programa de Dirección General, Director General Management Program) at the IESE Business School. He has worked for Aena for 25 years. From February 2012, Rafael held the position of Aena’s Operations, Security and Services Director, overseeing the optimum airport operation, the supervision of comprehensive security plans and the proper functioning of the Network Management Centre and the airport services. Rafael was appointed Aena’s Operations and Network Airports Director in July 2022.
Ignacio Biosca is an Aeronautical Engineer at Madrid’s Universidad Politécnica. He has completed the PDG (Programa de Dirección General, Director General Management Program) at the IESE Business School. On environmental issues, he completed the Advanced Course on Environmental and Natural Resources Management at the EOI (Escuela de Organización Industrial). He started his professional career at Aena in the Security Area in 1993. In 2002, he was appointed as Coordinator of Group II Airports, formed by ten mid-sized Aena airports network, and in 2005 he became responsible for the International Relations, Airport Marketing and Airlines Customer Relations of Aena. His present role in the company is Chief Data Officer (CDO) and Aeronautical Market Director and he is also part of Aena’s Management Committee.
Irene Gracia qualified in law at Madrid’s Universidad Complutense. She has completed the PDD (Programa de Desarrollo Directivo, Program for Management Development) at IESE Business School and the Promociona Women Executive Programme at ESADE Business School. She has been working at Aena for 22 years. She is currently the Head of Airport Marketing and International Relations where she coordinates Aena’s strategy to develop the airline market and the relationship with international institutions. She is a member of the Worldwide Airport Slots Board and Vice Chair of the ACI Europe Policy Committee.
