Abstract
As technology improves, allowing more people to access the internet, it has never been easier for people with vision impairment to use social media — a primary tool for marketers worldwide. As this paper explains, however, there is still some way to go to ensure accessibility is at the forefront of marketers’ minds when planning and creating content. To address this gap, the paper provides a number of simple tips and tricks to ensure that social media can be used by everyone.

Author's Biography
Mark Quinn is Marcomms Manager (Northern Ireland) for Guide Dogs Northern Ireland, where he works with the marketing team across the UK to ensure a high level of public awareness as well as the team in Northern Ireland to create local content for a local audience. Mark also has considerable experience in video production and a passion for ensuring the accessibility of content across social media for all users. Mark has previously worked for Leckey and Firefly, and Nine874 Creative, and has been a freelance brand consultant and videographer for various small businesses and charities.
Torie Tennant has extensive knowledge of using social media as a person with a visual impairment, having lived with retinopathy since birth. Torie has no useful vision and uses a screenreader to access social media. She is in a guide dog partnership with a yellow Labrador cross Golden Retriever called Vivvy.
