Abstract
Enhancing exhibits to increase collections access through online or virtual environments challenges museums and other cultural heritage institutions to expand upon existing digital asset management (DAM) workflows. Museum DAM managers are similarly challenged to implement DAM technical needs for new exhibit file structures. This paper addresses how DAM practitioners can utilise innovation and best practices to realise a return on investment through a flexible or contorted DAM system.

Author's Biography
Dione Surdez is the Archivist-in-Residence, responsible for digital asset management (DAM) at Origami Air Co.; a librarian and digital projects manager for Los Angeles County Library; and a teaching assistant in the Digital Asset Management Professional Certification programme at Rutgers University’s School of Communication and Information. In addition to a master of management in library and information science (MMLIS) and advanced DAM certification, Dione’s expertise is complemented by experience in a variety of library, archival, creative and virtual reality environments.
