Invite colleaguesFinding one source of truth between multiple digital asset management platforms at Autodesk
Abstract
The Autodesk digital asset management (DAM) system utilises an application programming interface (API) protocol to connect assets between two digital asset management platforms. In preparing, designing and implementing the API, the DAM librarian team reduced taxonomic noise, reinforced file-naming to one schema and backed up the asset life cycle to a single archive. These decisions and implementations have helped the Autodesk DAM team to work with a single source of truth for marketing and sales assets. This paper covers how the DAM API functions, the benefits the API has brought the team and asset stakeholders, and the single source of truth model reinforced by the API call.
