Abstract
Too often, companies are unaware of the risks inherent in their digital asset management systems until they are faced with possible legal action. This paper discusses the questions that companies need to ask themselves about how they are managing asset distribution, both before and after purchasing any kind of digital asset management system.

Author's Biography
Nancy Mandowa has served as Admin for the Royal Caribbean marketing library for the past seven years. After earning an MFA from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, she worked for a number of years as a photo editor, animator and video editor. That work eventually led to her focus on asset organisation and workflow, including the needs of companies to protect their digital assets.
