Supply chain redesign: From building resiliency to positioning for growth

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic exposed gaps in supply chains and the fragility of lean manufacturing approaches; no company or industry was spared its disruptive effects. Companies have figured out how to become resilient. Now comes the hard part: pivoting to growing and expanding their business. This paper examines the competitive advantages of supply chain management, the role of dynamic costing in determining real costs, strategic investments in procurement and purchasing solutions, and alternative capacity or nearshoring.

Author's Biography

Jeff Jorge provides strategic and business development support to manufacturing and distribution clients. Having held international operations and growth leadership roles for two Fortune 500, Tier 1 automotive suppliers, as well as early-stage companies, he is well versed in the challenges and opportunities facing the manufacturing and distribution industry.

Cory Wendt provides analytics, operational and project development consulting support to manufacturing and distribution clients. Leveraging more than 15 years’ relevant experience, he helps clients manage financial analytics, optimise the supply chain and achieve comprehensive project development for large capital expenditures.
