Contract digitisation and analytics: Goodbye paper audits, welcome to real-time scoring

Abstract

Intel’s global supply chain (GSC) is continually innovating in pursuit of an autonomous digital supply chain. In Q4 2018, the indirect materials team identified a formidable challenge: reading all contract documents to assess and identify key vulnerabilities in the contract. After conducting external scans of contract analytics solutions, the advanced analytics team embarked on a journey to disrupt the contract domain. In this paper they share their insights and the solution they achieved with their stakeholders, rich with business content expertise and robust analytics.

Author's Biography

Joan Duemler , CSCP, CPSM has 19 years’ multi-dimensional background spanning supply chain, finance, manufacturing, technology development and division. Her diverse background is a combination of leading and contributing to transformative initiatives focused on affordability and driving change and innovation to maximise business value. Joan is currently business operations manager for supply chain enabling solutions and procurement, operations and policy, for a more than 300-person organisation. In her previous role, as supply chain analytics manager, Joan managed data scientists and ensured that Intel’s supply chain intelligence and analytics team is delivering on aggressive goals. Joan holds a Bachelor’s in accounting and finance and a Master’s in finance from Indiana University Bloomington, with minors in information technology, marketing and international studies. Prior to Intel, she worked for Hewlett-Packard and Electronic Data Services. She holds CSCP and CPSM certifications. Joan is passionate about diversity and inclusion and has held leadership positions with Intel’s largest employee resource group, Arizona Women at Intel, for ten years; she received the Arizona Diversity Leadership Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015. She is also active in targeted advancement programmes, most recently initiating a mentoring programme for women in supply chain excellence to address challenges faced by women in technology.
