Abstract
Leading retailers worldwide have embraced sustainability. They recognise its role in contributing to a ‘triple bottom line’ that benefits their profits and people while ensuring a healthier planet. This is driven by enthusiastic consumers who overwhelmingly support sustainability — with a large majority stating that they prefer to purchase from companies that advocate for issues that they care deeply about, such as environment causes. This paper presents a blueprint for retailers to reimagine reverse logistics and make their supply chains sustainable in the near term, while creating additional benefits for consumers and their businesses.

Author's Biography
David Sobie is CEO and co-founder of Happy Returns, which provides comprehensive return solutions for the world’s leading online and omni-channel retailers and their customers. He previously served as Chief Marketing Officer at e-commerce giants, JustFab and REVOLVE. In addition, David was Senior Vice President — Marketing and Business Development at HauteLook, and vice president for product at LeadPoint. David earned his BA in English from Dartmouth College and an MBA in general management from the Tuck School of Business.
Caitlin Roberson is Vice President of Marketing for Happy Returns. She previously served as Director of Enterprise Marketing for Lyft and a Partner at Andreessen Horowitz. Before that, Caitlin served as VP of Sales, West for Skyword, which acquired a content marketing agency she founded. Caitlin holds bachelor’s degrees in English and Spanish from UCLA, graduating summa cum laude from the honours programme in three years.
