This paper supports the conviction that Blockchain applications and cryptocurrencies as digital money will achieve global adoption within the next few years in several sectors, particularly in the banking industry.

Author's Biography
Alessandro Raffelini is an internationally experienced Private Equity manager and Adviser. He lives and works in London. Alessandro was born in Italy, where he graduated in Economics and obtained master’s degrees in various subjects and a range of professional qualifications and specialisations in corporate finance attending London Business School. He covered different managerial and top management roles during a career spanning more than 15 years in corporate finance and management. Alessandro is an author and an analyst of financial and economic aspects surrounding the financial digital markets, Blockchain and Corporate Finance. His vision is that Blockchain technology will be integrated into everything humans do, from payments to communication, information, commerce and much more, while virtual currencies will potentially coexist with national fiat currencies creating new potential economies and digital monetary areas between countries or neighbour economic regions.
