Abstract
Navigating the world of supplier management for your contingent labour programme can be challenging. Nevertheless, choosing, supporting and managing your labour supply base is critical to your company’s overall success. This paper seeks to shed more light on this issue and takes a more in-depth look at what is happening in the world of work, why you should care, and how to leverage your talent supply chain to prepare your organisation for the changes that are coming.

Author's Biography
Allen Chilson has over 20 years’ experience in talent acquisition and human resource (HR) roles where his responsibilities have included managing the workforce and vendors/partners involved in securing new talent for the organisation. In his current role as Talent Acquisition Manager – Strategic Partnerships at BASF, he manages vendors who deliver recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) programmes in the US and contingent workforce programmes in the US, Puerto Rico and Canada. BASF is one of the largest chemical producers in the world and operates more than 100 manufacturing and research and development (R&D) sites in North America, with over 50 sites in the US with more than 100 employees. In previous roles at AstraZeneca, MedImmune, FINRA and Sarnoff, Allen managed both in-house and vendor teams that delivered talent acquisition, contingent workforce and related services (relocation, immigration, pre-employment screening) to managers in the US, Canada and the UK. Allen is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ (BS, Marketing) and is a Certified Contingent Workforce Professional (CCWP) as well as holding certifications from HRCI (SPHR) and SHRM (SHRM-SCP). He also holds multiple AIRS recruitment certifications. Allen has served as Chapter President of the Morris County SHRM Chapter, as well as other volunteer roles with the Chapter. He has also taught introduction to HR classes at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Jim Wehner is the Vice President, Global Client Lead for KellyOCG. Jim is an award-winning account management professional and has spent the last 20+ years working in sales and account management positions for Adecco and Manpower Inc. During his tenure at these companies, Jim has had a wealth of experience in the oil and gas (O&G) sector and has designed several creative total talent management programmes. Over the course of his career, Jim has garnered a sterling reputation with peers, direct reports and customers as a wonderful leader with a deep level of industry knowledge and the ability to build long-term relationships. He has successfully run business process outsourcing (BPO), recruitment process outsourcing (RPO), master service provider (MSP) and temporary labour programmes for some of the top Fortune 500 companies. Jim is a graduate of Texas State University with a degree in marketing.
